Appeal - Chethana Special School
We have four experienced teaching staff members and two helpers to assist our students at Chethana Special School, Karkala, Karnataka. About 60% of our students are from below poverty line families. There are many students who cannot afford to pay school bus rent, fees, or annual donations
The reasons for this appeal are as follows- Some parents cannot afford the initial deposit, monthly fees or transportation cost. Some parents are not able to bear any expense at all. To different degrees, we need to subsidize those, who cannot afford. Please remember that we cannot expect much monetarily from a daily wage worker or a widow who maintains a family by rolling 'beedis',
- We need to have better facilities for the students,
- We also like to expand our activities such as organizing camps, and workshops for psychiatric counselling to parents and eye check up, medical check up and so on to all students,
- As the student strength increases, we would like to hire some more qualified staff and
Our average monthly school expenses are Rs. 76,800/-. . We try to make up the monthly deficit through fund raising and donations from committee members. Here we would like to point out that during summer school vacations and other school vacation days, monthly school expenses are lowered. We firmly believe "Where there is a will, there is a way."
